Okay my heater use to work but it's been while since I've turned it on over the summer. I have a 98 Civic Hatch DX. Have a fairly new thermostat not Evan a year old. New coolant just put in the other day. Blows air but not hot air. The manual switch from hot to cold. doesn't slide all the way to hot bounces back a lil. (Not sure if that matters.) but I can hear something close & open when switching to cold to hot. Any suggestions?

my civic did that before the swap (didn't slide all the way to max heat). Pull the cable off the water valve in the engine bay and check if you can physically get the lever to move farther without the cable hooked up.

but even without max heat mine warmed up fine (even with a pinched heater core inlet reducing the opening to 20% thanks to the p.o.)

the noise you hear is a door i believe meaning all's good

May want to bleed the system to get any air in the lines out of there, too.
