So im driving back to school today, and im behind two tractor trailors. One shoots a huge rock out from under it that it picked up off the side of the road. It destroyed two rims completely and blew the two tires. I am now rimless =( i made out lucky though. no suspension problems or even out of alignment. It also shot me straight at a cliff wall at 65mph. For sure death, someone died about a mile down the road from this. I managed to swing the car back and miss the wall by about 5 feet. so im not to pissed. i prefer life over rims. ah i hope insurance covers it

lol well i had just got them and brand new tires. so thats a quite a few hundred dollars. So yeah ill ask them if its covered. Im under my parents to keep my prices down and they want to, so ill do it. but nothing. i got super lucky, and managed to save it. lol left some smoke and tire marks though. be my reminder when i drive back and forth from school lol. time to rock some fluorescent pink steelies till spring comes around. i still cant believe how lucky i made out, i definately shouldnt of
lol i would take pics, but i dont got a camera. and my dad took them home in his truck. i live in a dorm on campus at my college. lol when i get home i will, or ill google some that look pretty close. but thanks guys, lol made me realize how quick s**t can go bad
lol damn i really wish i took pics when i was with him. phone was dead so i had no way. this blows. lol i had to walk to find a phone. no one would stop. dicks

You should have gotten the truck number and such, their insurance company could've been liable for the damage.

If it was a dump truck that had the rock come from it's load, yes. If it was just a rock kicked up from the road, no. Truckers are not liable for rocks kicked up that are already on the road.

If the truck doesn't have mud flaps, it can be held liable. Dad's a truck driver
f**k that tractor driver! at first i thought it was a truck driver, cuz truck drivers have insurance and you would of been covered by there insurance. but let me guess, tractor drivers are uninsured? Holy s**t where do u live where you are driving side by side with one of those slow f**ks!

Lol i live in PA out in the bumblefuck. Lol, on a side note, i do drive next to tractors fairly often, the go from part to part of their farms. but eh i couldnt give exact size of the rock. it was was pretty damn big though, i wasnt going to go look for it though. Changing a tire on a busy highway right around a turn sucked enough, and is also why i didnt get their number or anything. Not enough time. If i would of found that rock though. soak it in some water for a while and throw it in a fire, blow that thing up. Thanks guys! hm now idk if i want to replace these two, or get new ones. though decision. If i get money from insurance, im thinking use it to get struts and lower finally?
