--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, when i turn on my lights to drive at night, i hear a low buzzing noise coming through my speakers. it gets consdierably louder when i have both the driving lights AND my audio stereo system on at the same time. This is what I got in the car as far as electronics and audio. .

1. Optima Yellow Top Battery
2. 150 amp alternator (from Alterstart)
3. tsunami 2-farad bass capacitor

These all are for the infinity speakers i got, and the 2 kickers amps, and the 2 kicker 12" subs. I heard it could be the grounding, since apparently it is the alternator noise being heard through the speakers.

I need a solution to the problem. I heard it could be a grounding issue, myabe get a noise filter or ground loop isolators. I need to know what you guys think it is and what is the best solution. Money really isn't an issue at this point, but I'm not gonna waste $ on something that isn't gonna help the problem.

A ground loop is where your ground shsares the ssame negative return path with another electrical component. In your case its the lights. What you need to do is move the ground on your mids and high amp.
Change the ground on your yellowtop to match the same gauge that you are running on your system

and also make sure your power wire and rca's aren't on the same side, they should always be ran on opposite sides

stumped

The RCA's and the other wires are running on the opposite sides of the car.
I have replaced the grounding to the battery.
We took the speaker amp and put in a new one to test it just to see if the amplifier itself was messed up. Same noise.
I think we did everything possible, but the noise still happens with BOTH the lights and system on (technically, it only occurs when the speaker is grounded. When it was not grounded, there was no noise. We then grounded it and it happened again)
Basically, I'm running out of options and I don't know where the noise is coming from.

I do have a Bohmen HID kit and my system wires connected to the positive terminal on the car, but the noise occurred before the hid's were put in. it got a bit louder and more noticeable once the hid's were put on. it always occurred ever since my system was put on and i replaced the alternator and battery with a yellowtop optima. help fast

Also, we did move the ground as well but same problem

you can make a noise sniffer - dismantle a walkman and use the tape head from it and headphones - put the head near a possible source of the problem (all your grounds you've added along with the wiring for each component if the grounds give you nothing) easy way to see where the problem is actually coming from - if you come across a bad ground you'll know it if the volume is up a bit on the walkman.... i'm sure there's a diagram out there somewhere of how to make a noise sniffer... i'm not very helpful - i know... =)

i switched the amp to a new MTX one. Ground has been moved to the seat belt buckle on the bottom part. . and i still got problems. in fact, i hear the alternator whistle through the speakers during the day time as well now. with the low beam headlight switch on, the buzz is actually louder. what could it be? im thinkin possibly: 1. battery ground 2. ground cable from alternator to battery 3. ground issue between speaker amp and battery source 4. fact my yellowtop share the hid and sound system 5. . . . what could it be, i cant seem the narrow the problem except the fact it comes in with the speakers. when i do not have the speaker amp grounded, the noise doesnt exist. once we grounded, it came back . . . help

check chassis grounds, make sure nearby wires share the same ground point, run rca/speaker wire and power wires on opposite sides of the car. upgrade your factory engine grounds with 4 gauge copper wire. make sure grounds are made with bare metal. painted surfaces don't conduct as well. use sandpaper if needed.

BTW, a good set of RCA will have a ground wire inbetween them both to eliminate this line noise and the hassle of running it on the other side of the car.

the damn noise actually came from the indiglo piece of sh1t gauges. . once those were removed, i jus had to move ground back to its original spot and everything is all done
