well since the woofer is a 450w i'd go with a 1 channel 500 watt amp and if you want to amp the speakers also go with a 2 or 4 channel for the front and rears with 300 watts or so

i've done work with magnolia hi-fi /best buys and from personal experience, SONY car audio parts always come back because they think they can make a surround sound system out of there car
as long as you dont try and push it they'll be nice

oka. thanks for the tip. i think i might go w the 500 w amp. but i dont want the sub to overpower the vocals. so thats why. thanks. im completely new to this whole audio stuff. i just hooked it up in my brothers car and it thumps hard. its a 1000w amp. does that mean its gettin 1000watts to the sub? or does it just draw 450w from that 1000? thanks

he has two punch P2 12's and mine sounded better for some reason. he has a nice box too. i was wondering on that too. thanks

it'll max at the 450

yours could sound better for many reasons, your box could be sealed better, your one magnet could be the same size as both of his..could be alot of things really

on the amp there should always be things to stick a flat head in and adjust the sound so that it wont over power the vocals..some amps come with a knob or something where you could measure how much bass you want , we had a customer come in for an install and he said he wanted a big nice system but wanted us to build it around the music he listened to, turns out the type of music was a ballad type
