how will this work out?

i have a 10 inch orion xtr dvc sub, i found a wedge speaker box with dimensions of 19.75x14.75x6.25(7.5+5/2) for cheap. divide by 1,728 and that gives me roughly 1.054 cubic feet. how do u guys think this will sound? decent or just crappy?

heres the specs i found for the sub

It will work.

I had a duel coil 800 watt kenwood 12 in a wedge style truck box. It was the first box i put it in and i was impressed with the sound.

On the flip side tho i blew that sub and bought a JL W0 10 and bought a proper size box for it (ported also) and it hit and sounded just as good as my kenwood. (and its only running 400 watts, my kenwood was running at 700)

So to sum it up, it will work, but as someone once told me, "Your car is only as good as your tires and your sub is only as good as its box"

that'll be fine

polly fill is pretty much the cotton-like filling inside of pillows

polyfill makes the sub thinks it is in a larger box. The polyfill dissipates energy (in the form of heat from vibrating) which the sub 'feels' as more damping. More damping happens from a larger box (up to the point the box gets too large and begins to act like an infinite baffle arrangement).
there's a good lil explanation of what it does

you can get poly fill at an arts and crafts place...walmart might have it...its cheap...use one cubic foot per cubic foot of space...when i used those prefab boxes i like to re-silicone every seam on the inside...i have even coated the inside with resin to keep the box from flexing and losing energy...but if you dont want to do that...plug and play is fine...
