Not a typical D16 swap.

I can't seem to get the exact answer that I am looking for on Google. You'd think that with more than a million of enthusiasts out there that at least a few would have done the swap I currently plan on doing. I have found a D16Y7; extremely happy about it not being a VTEC engine. I am going to swap out my D15B7 for it. What I plan on doing is what I couldn't get the exact answer to though. I am getting the 1.6 and putting my 1.5 distributor, intake manifold, and exhaust manifold on there. That obviously all bolts up and I found many do that for the swap into my EH chassis. My question that I couldn't answer was this... Who knows if the car will run decent on the P06 or should I install my chipped P06 with a stock basemap from the 1.6? When you swap do you leave the OBD-1 P06 virgin? I know I need the OBD-1 ecu but I want to know how well it will run. Sorry if I repeated myself. Lol.

My current power plant burns nearly as much oil as gasoline. HAHA

I'd have to convert everything to OBD-2 then. I'm able to get mine chipped for virtually free. I might not be getting the swap, hopefully the person doesn't back out of the deal. I think we should still have this question answered. The 1.6 has a different power-band than the 1.5. I would have to do more research on that.

It will run just fine, the extra .1 liter will not do much really. About the same hp and power bands factory. Just do it.

That's what I think I will do. I don't want to spend much money on the car. The body of the car is immaculate but unfortunately the power plant... just isn't. Looks like I'm going to be doing this next week. Going to school full time and working full time nights is going to be hard enough on me. I don't want to have to deal with this thing constantly. Thanks
