Ive done an OBD0 to OBD1 swap in my 91 DX hatch using a chipped P28, car runs great, the only thing is the CEL stays on all the time. When the the service connector is jumped, no codes show the light just stays on(I guess the is code 0 for the ecu). Ive already swapped a known good ecu(another chipped P28),does the same thing. Ive aready tried another jumper harness, does the same thing. Anyone ever been through this??

Does the car rev over 3500 rpm?

If not then it is indeed an ecu or wiring problem.

If it does rev over 3500 then you have a normal (non-limp mode code) that should be able to be pulled when you ground the service connector input on the ecu.

could the light be on due to wiring the wrong wire? so maybe the light is just always getting power or something?? Just wondering. I was throwing a code 7 on my PM5 for a while. the check engine light normally comes on after 25 to 30 key cycles but after putting on the Si cluster, I have never had a CEL pop up.

yo, i tried jumping the wire from 2 pin connector and it doesnt do anything to the checkengine light... the best thing is check your ECU PIN OUT FOR Service Check & Ignition Timing Connector den jump it to ground.
