Odd wub wub wub on idle, Y7

Looking for some thoughts on what the issue could be with my Y7 auto, it's only happening on idle after the car has warmed up a bit, like a wub wub wub wub rhythmic rev. When I put it in park it'll slow to a wuuuuuuub wuuuuuuub wuuuuuuub... Only code that's being thrown is an o2 sensor which I'll be changing. In thinking it coul also be iacv issues I just haven't seen anyone else's threat with a similar issue. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you've got it figured out, I was gonna suggest the iacv, get that new o2 in and if no difference try cleaning the iacv.

If you google how to clean civic iacv there will be multiple links on "how to's"

or, could be your radio's picking up Skrillex, and you didn't realize it.
actually, sounds as if you and Roma got it covered

^I was JUST going to post that after reading the title haha. Damn you... Damn you.

But fix what ever code your ecu is throwing, then post for trouble shooting. Also a video might help diagnose your issue ;)

So I got the new o2 sensor in and cleaned the iacv. No change in the problem. CEL came back one pretty much immediately after the new o2 was done. Haven't checked the code yet.

Stop changing random things without at least reading the code.
You're choosing the most expensive route of fixing what could be a simple repair man.

well the o2 was bad and needed to be replaced, its al good though. after the o2 code cleared the light was off a while, but it still made did the thing. so i cleaned the iacv and it didnt help. a day or so later the cel came back, this time the code was the idle air control system. since i cleaned the valve, im guessing its probably shot, is there anything else that is related tot he iacv that would cause a code before i replace it entirely? i was quoted something ridiculous like 170 for a new valve, and id rather just swap in a y8 intake for that price...

Use a code reader to pull the OBD2 code -- r AutoZone will do it free for you. Post the OBD2 code because it tells you whether there is a mechanical or electrical problem in the idle control system.

thanks RonJ, they gave me the code P0505, they listed probable causes as a vacuum leak somewhere, the iac motor being defective or the throttle body itself being dirty. it didnt look 'that' dirty when i had everything off the other day, but i guess it wouldnt hurt to clean it up and see.

So your symptoms are a hunting/fluctuating idle, right? Is the idle speed also too high?

Here's the order of things to do:

1) When the idle speed is hunting, remove the air intake system and then use your finger to cover the hole inside the throttle body leading to the IACV. Does covering this hole eliminate the hunting idle and cause the idle speed to drop below normal?

2) Have you already thoroughly cleaned the IACV?

3) Have you adjusted the idle speed as described in the service manual?

There are several other possible causes of P0505, but these^ are where to start.

Correct, I believe it said the idle was either too high or too low for what the computer was expecting to read but didn't specify which one. I have cleaned the iacv. Ill try your finger suggestion and the idle adjustment and see what happens.

Bone stock D16Y7 auto? If so, below is how to properly adjust the idle speed. You will need a tachometer or a multimeter that reads rpm.
