OEM head unit options

well my car got broken into last weekend and my headunit was stolen. I had a JVC El Kameleon headunit. I liked it, it cost a little under $300 when I got it. I put my factory radio back in but I definitely need to get a new CD player soon. I don't have a system and am not going to get one so I really dont need a head unit with a lot of output so I was thinking I'd just get an OEM cd player. The obvious choice is the 99-00 Si headunit with the amber display but I was wondering what else would work. Maybe the headunit from an EP3 or RSX or something, maybe a Teg. I'd like an amber display to match the OEM clock but I guess that's not necessary. Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on other good OEM units or what will and wont work. I know there are factory codes and stuff like that. Pics would be appreciated too. I've never really heard of people putting RSX radios in Civic's before and I think it could be cool. any input would be appreciated.

It looks like it would fit fine and I'm sure you could wire it up. I don't know about needing codes and all that though. Also could I get an OEM keyless entry to work with something like this?

You would need the Metra 70-1721 harness to wire it up to the stock harness and on your stock harness, you would have to cut I believe the lt. green/black and lt. green/red wire and put them together to still keep keyless entry. I'll check on those wires though to make sure. It's what I usually have to do when I install a radio on the 96-98's, unless you use the 1720T.

is it really that simple to keep keyless entry??
and the metra70-1721 harness and the 1720t...wtf are those?
is it jus the same harness that i made?
where it plugs into the car...then has a plug for the oem stereo and more wires to hook up to an aftermarket unit?

RSX radio is lit red, not amber, but you can find a buttload of them on Clubrsx.com

EP3 stereo has a notch to the right much like the EM2 stereos I believe...

it'll work more than likely, but it wont fit correctly(if it can at all).

To keep you dome light, everything is on the (gree plug), the 1721 is the oem harness he would have needed if he wanted to install the S2K radio.

The 80-1720T is basically everything you will need to keep the factory radio in the car down inside the dashboard to keep the keyless entry module active. If you don't relocate the radio if you have factory keyless, then your keyless won't work, and the domelight won't work.
