Oil seepage/leak?

I drive a 2000 Civic SI with the stock B16 and it has 116k miles give or take. I went to go check my oil levels and I saw a darker shade in the middle of my valve cover by the spark plugs. Recently I have only put on a carbon spark plug cover so I don't think that would have anything to do with it because it happened a couple of weeks after putting it on. I checked the spark plugs and they don't have oil and when I have it running I can't see any leakage. Anyone have any ideas as to what this can be? Is there a possibility that it's the valve cover gasket?

Oil is likely leaking past the spark plug tube seals and/or bolt seals in the valve cover. Replace them.

cleab it and wait for it to leak again.
sometimes the spark plug gasket lleaks, while other times its the valve cover bolt gasket.
either way a full valve cover gasket set should fix your problem.
