Looks like you accidentally posted in the member's rides section, which is meant for showing off your car. Make sure you post in the appropriate technical section in the future. I went ahead and moved this thread for you.

In regard to your question - This isn't my topic of expertise, but I did a quick search and it seems like 5W-30 and 10W-30 are the most common. Another thing to consider is the mileage of your vehicle. Your car is over 20 years old, so it's likely you have high mileage. If so, you might want to consider using a high mileage oil.

I cleaned this thread. To those who posted previously, it is not acceptable to reply with "search", and it is DEFINITELY not acceptable to reply with false information.

I saw nothing wrong with the original replies. Especially considering that the comments said were not derogatory & have been repeated in numerous past posts without issue unless I missed something after Crash's last comment. So are members now allowed to create redundant threads that have been answered numerous times in the past? If so, thats news to me and Im sure to several others.

If repetitive posts are now allowed, then here's a helpful reply. Its quite subjective and many argue which is truly better. High mileage oil will suffice although there is substantial proof that synthetic oil is very beneficial to all engines, high mileage or otherwise, because its less prone to thin out in higher temperatures unlike conventional oil. Synthetic also cleans out your engine better if it has some sludge or deposits from lack of care by previous owners.

So if I'm allowed to suggest, you may wish to research this topic further online as there is heavy research and extensive conversations on this topic throughout the web (as I briefly eluded to earlier). In short, either is fine but if you're willing to splurge a little more money then synthetic may provide more satisfying results. Again, many opinions out there are very subjective so use your better judgement.
