has anyone done a swap with an obd1 gsr into a obd2 ek hatch? the reason im asking is i heard its almost impossible and i think its a bunch of crap.... so im just curious to know the facts on the wiring... impossible? is it a job that can been done with out a shop putting it together? or could i silmply use a 97 gsr obd2 ecu on a 95 obd1 gsr motor? that is going into a 97 obd2 car.

well.. im a firm beleiver that nothing is impossible. im not an expert, but i would think it would be difficult to do, tho. not to mention that im pretty sure its illegal. u cant put an engine in a car that is older than the car itself. of course, thats not to say you cant do it anyways.
wiring wise, the obd2 has alot more sensors that the obd1 engine wont have available. why dont u just get an obd2 engine? i know the obd1's are easier to mod, but it will save alot of hassle to jsut deal with the obd1. you could also do a obd1 conversion and just run with a obd1 engine and ecu... tho im thinkin that would be kinda illegal too. like i said, tho... im not an expert, hopefully someone w/ some more knowledge can give you more details.
