Dude, try crutchfield.com and see whats out there. those are the real deals, not the ching chang alpine or fosgate from CC or BB. then u can decide what u want.
personally, i have a kick ass Pioneer head unit powering my corners, 300w mono Kicker pushing a Kenwood 10. Im using the head unit for mids and highs only, and if u want it loud in the car, not across the street, i think my set up is pretty good for a budget system.
( keep in mind, if u have a head unit that has AUX inputs, you can use your laptop to watch your DVDs and then listen thru your car stereo. I decided not to pay for double din 6.5" screens when my laptop is 15.7" and sounds just as good. Plus i live in Miami so id like to keep my stereo a while
