Orange Tinge on Lights

I've noticed a lot of 6th gens with Orangeish dirty looking tinged headlights. My drivers side is like this but my passenger side is not. Which leads me to belive that it is due to the aftermarket headlight assembly on my drivers side.

Therefore:
Are the pre cleared lights and black housing lights on e-bay and other sites which are not OEM likley to have the same happen to them?.

Thanks

the 96-98 civics have much uglier taillights.. i think that is largely because the way the reflecters inside were designed and the little shroud over the corner bulb that reflects itself and makes the whole housing look all crusty orange. On top of that, the previous owner of my car had eyebrows on the headlights and there is still residue from the adhesive.. This summer im going to take the housing apart and pull all the orange crap out, and then get some really fine steel-wool or maybe really fine grit sand-paper and get all the residue junk off of there so it looks all shiny...
Oh by the way, the aftermarket headlights wouldnt have that problem i dont THINK, especcially if you buy a quality brand... They are made to look better and cleaner...

i've heard

I've heard that this problem can be solved by taking 1000 grit sandpaper to it, till it's out.... I have this problem on on my passenger side headlight, and am planning on clearing both of them, and getting rid of this problem

Try the Orange Oil Goo Gone first...I dont think you will be happy with the results of sand paper or steel wool on your plastic housings...

i know what you are talking about, but i mean the lens in front of the headlight bulb is a tinged color, perhaps from excessive sun damage, but it only effects my drirvers side aftermarket and not my passenger side OEM.

I saw a car in the parking lot today which had both of them somewhat "clouded" over in the manner that the plastic is not a true clear.

i want new headlights, but i just don't want to run into the same problem buying the pre cleared ion blue or pre black housing headlights, which run 90 - 140

once again

Like I said, I've heard from multiple people that using 1000 grit sandpaper and lightly sanding them until they clear up , is a good solution... Search around for it, I know I've seen references to it on CC before...

depends

I guess it just depends on what you want, if you want new ones , then order them. I would think they wouldn't get the orange tinge at all, or if they do it would be a very long time. But if you just want the cleaned OEM ones, then try to clean them up.... That's just for you to decide I guess.
