Over boosting

ok let me start by saying that i have been builing honda motors and racing before i had my licens. I own a performance shop and know quite abit. well wiht that said, my 00 SI, LS block and b16 head is over boosting. i have tried to find the problem but with no sucess. i have looked for vacumm leeks, holes in the exhaust system, the turbo is less then 6 months old, the same goes for the wastgate. i cant seem to find why its overboosting. the wastgate is suppost to hold at 6psi but wants to climb bast 10. i dont have it tuned for past 12 so i cant let it get that high. i cant floor it because it will just keep building boost. so what dose CC think can you guys help me out?

Bob.

personally id check to see if ur wastegate rod isnt possibly bent not allowing the wastegate to open up all the way. then id go ahead and replace the 50 cent hose controlling the wastegate

all new hoses to and from the wastegate, see the thing is the car has been setting for 2 months, in that time its been driven maybe 4 times not farther then 5 miles. i know the rod is ok but whats strrange last month the car boosted fine, but now its over boosting, it boggles my mind. there couldnt have been any thing happen to a car from just setting for that short of a time could there?

its a greddy kit (TDO5-18G) i cant think of why it would over boost like that. i was thinking if i cant find out what is causing it i will just turn the boost down via the rod on the wastegate.

thanks for the welcome. i have many project cars so i will be asking for a lil help alot of the time lol. im the same guy that has the 00 si that made 422whp i made a thread about it a while back.

hey i just wanted to stop by and say hello. I am new to this form but i have been a member of clubsi and 7thgencivic for about 2 years. I would like to make this form my new home if thats ok. I drive a 2000 civic Si that is boosted, i guess i can give you some specs. The motor is a LS/VTEC, the turbo is a GT35R it made 323WHP @ 13-14 psi, and 422 WHP @ 22-23. the rods are eagle H-beam ( I know there going to give out) aris pistons (9.5:1) , blox turbo cams and skunk 2 valve train.the head has a three angle valve job. the crank is knife edged. Thats pretty much it for the basics, if you like to know more just ask, I'd be more than happy to answer.

I don't know, boost leaks will cause you to loose boost. I had a boost leak and everything sounded weird, I was only going up to like 5psi and that's it. I still say something's wrong with your wastegate but then again, what the f**k do I know?

you know i was thinking that cuz the weather has been very wet here in fort worth the past few days. but i took off the wastegate and put a new one on i had at the shop, but its still boosting past 10 psi. The only thing i can think of to do is to turn the boost down via the wastegate rod, or put a elec. boost controler on it and see if that will work.

yea... if the wastegate os not stuck, then it probably needs to be set up better... i would get an EBC for it, and double check vacume lines/ routing.
