hey guys im a new honda civic owner(first car) and im having some problems im hoping this community can help with.
everyone says its blown head gasket since its white smoke from hood.
just today engine started malfunctioning, at first just made not working noise when turning key in ignition.
after engine started after several attempts, car is shaky, not sounding right.
now my engine just gives up when the white smoke from hood appears.
also water is leaking from distributor area.i have to keep refilling water tank.
its a 99 civic coupe with a d16y8
as a broke college student it would be great if i can repair cheap as possible.
best place to buy legitimate parts? online parts store, junkyard, craigslist?
anyone know a good mechanic? i live in OC/LA so-cali
i checked for fault codes on my torque app. code p1457 evap came up.
then my friend used his more legit scan tool and code p0505 came up.
now there is no check engine light at all, i didnt disconnect engine either
which fault code should i go after? both? neither?
is this related to my overheating head gasket issue?
all help is greatly appreciated, thanks

If you truly want help, then post a bunch of CLEAR pictures showing where the coolant is leaking under the hood.

Enough said.

Im having the same problem. also having smoke blow out from the exhaust! Is it possible the head has cracked or the intake is cracked?

yup, likely blown head gasket if white smoke from the exhaust. As far as cracked intake, is possible as well. Did you use too much nitrous and blow the welds on your intake?

Sorry, couldn't help it. Seriously, though. If you're getting white smoke park it immediately and start looking for those leaks. from the tailpipe, good bet it IS the head gasket.
