I'm trying to figure out what color to paint my '92 civic DX. I'm thinking metallic black but that can get a little pricey. anyone have any suggestions....?

if youre worrying about price then go to macco. if you want it to be done right and look good. be prepaired to take the time to do alot of prep work yourself and then pay a pretty penny to get it painted by a pro.

post a pic of the car as it sits.

You post your pictures on photobucket then link it here, you noob. we need to see your vehical to determine if metalic black is your best choice. we also need to check out your rims.

maaco, is not that bad....one of my car is painted in MACCO.....

here is what i think about painting cars, i don't really see a point of paying 2-3k for a paint job for a car that, you might not even gonna keep the car forever....

i can understand if your painting the car for a car show, than thats a different story...

just my 2 cents.....

i guess macco (correct spelling now thanks for that large caps haha) in your area has a good rep, around here they really are not that good, people have gotten their cars painted (a few of my friends after an accident because it was cheap) and it started to flake one a few months later another about a year and a half give or take so, honestly i might give it a try when i get my car painted and hopefuly they changed but i guess it all depends on where you live

car is pretty much stock except i put on mew fenders and an exhaust system so i pretty much can work with any color and rim combo to make my civic unique.

yikes, ugly color. The color depends what plans you have for the car....How much do you want to fix it up. and do you really want to fix it up? cuz if you dont you might as well save that money.

i would suggest a factory color but any color from other car brands as long as its factory color, that way repair pens are available for damage down the line

maaco is only bad at their body work. how is the body? if it's straight, no dings or dents, go with black at maaco. for the most part, the guys can paint, it's just the body work they go too quick on, and black is going to show all of the imperfections.
I would say if you want a darker color, you could go with a dark gray, that would look good, but really it's up to you
