painted gauge bezel

there was a thread not to long ago about a silver gauge bezel, i think it was sk8shorty017 that was pondering one. well i got an extra cluster for my car so i decided to try it out. im waiting a day to make sure it dries completely, so ill put it back together tom and see how it looks assembled.

i picked metallic silver just to try it out. if it doesnt turn out right, i can always pick another color since its a spare piece.

how did you go about removing the bezel? i know remove the cluster, but does it just come off with some screws when u remove the plastic face?

dude, you're my f**king idol. Although I like the brushed polished steel look better, props for creativity. I love how my name pops up all around this site. I still really want the mugen bezel, but can't justify the 195+ on it.

1. remove the cluster itself
2. remove plastic cover (use a flat head to push the clips down around it and then pull it off)
3. use the same technique for the black cover piece underneath step 2.
4. remove the bezel

i feel all warm an fuzzy inside

as good as it looked in the pictures, i got the wrong paint. way to metallic. i stripped the paint and got something a little different. because that metallic paint had the metallic chips in it, it wouldnt go on smooth. after looking thru the automotive paint, i got something that looks more like semi-flat silver. i should get around to painting it today.

got it painted and put on, didnt turn out too bad. looks alot better than the metallic paint i used last time.

yes i know my steering wheel is falling apart. that b***h is old but i love it.

a CTR gauge cluster is cool, but i dont like the carbon fiber bezel that they have.
