Well I got sick of looking at primer colored fenders and the aftermarket headlights the previous owner had on this thing threw less light than my zippo so I got started at 11am and worked until 6:30 ish to get the fenders painted and put in new halo headlights with a HID kit. I know the bumper, fenders and hood are kinda ugly but I'm gonna put OEM bodywork back on it in the spring. For now its just a $3000 commuter to save gas and a weekend project so save the ricer comments.
fenders primed, sanded and waiting for paint
ugly ass headlights had to go.
New halos with the HID conversion.
Halos work just fine.
The HIDs sapped the juice from my battery. Notice the charger? Ooops
Fenders VERY wet after their second coat of clear.
Save the comments about the bumper I don't like it either but the new lights look good and the HIDs arent blinding.
Now I'm just waiting overnight for everything to cure so I can wet sand the fenders in the morning and put them back on the car. So far it looks pretty good for coming out of a rattle can but we'll see how it matches up once the fenders are on. The HIDs must've shorted out the battery because I couldn't start it after I was checking on the lights, I turned the key, heard a click and then had NOTHING but it seems fine now that it's sat on the charger for a bit. Hopefully it's not a recurring problem and I'm not blowing thru fuses or getting stranded at work. I just don't know why it all of a sudden had no power at all? More pics to come after I get everything on it and do the oil change tomorrow.
