hey guys

i have checked over everything. fuses. bulbs, etc. my parking lights do not turn on as well as the license plate light. again, i have checked all the fuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

both brake lights work as well as turn signal and reverse light. this is only in the back. up front works fine!

any help!!!????? brake lights and parking lights are on two different fuses. i have a 96 civic hatch.

also, AGAIN ALL FUSES ARE GOOD!!!!!

Car?

Do the cluster back lights and climate control lights work?

How exactly did you test the parking lights fuse?

yep everything works except the damn parking lights for the rear. front works fine. i also researched in manuals and found that the front and rear are tied to the same fuse... weird that only the front works.

Car? 96 Civic?

Use a multimeter to check the rear bulb sockets for voltage and ground.

so there is another problem. when my headlights are on at night or just on, the right turn signal does not work both in the cluster and outside the car. nothing comes on. but the left does. this happens from parking light mode too. but when the car is just on with no lights on, both signals work fine.....

any thoughts?

ok pulled the fuse box semi out and the red/black wire that goes to the rear for the lights is burned at the connection that goes into the fuse box. wire is exposed.... not sure how that happened.... now i pulled the rear light out and noticed the same thing on the rear left light harness. same red/black wire... power wire was burned but only a few inches worth from the connection.

i replaced the wires with enough distance but i doubt it will help and it didnt do anything.

this red/black wire goes to both tailights, license light and parking light deal, thus explaining why i have no power.... any thoughts to fix this before ripping everything out and replacing harnesses. i thought about just jumping wires with a splice, masking it off properly and then tapping it into the rear...

thoughts please.

yes... 96 ex. i have a hatch but used my old 96 ex harness for a window conversion. but i dont think that will matter cause everything was plug and play and has worked perfect for years.... something must of ground and sparked to burn a wire under the dash......

this sucks.

used a multi meter in the rear and obviously no power at all. everything is getting power except the red/blk wire.

relay on the fuse box???? i dont think it could be a relay because both signals front and back work as well as hazards. the only time signals dont work, and its only the right side is when the lights are in park or headlights are on....

well problem fixed. the red/blk wire that powered the rear was burned all the way through. spliced a wire and now it works.

but now i still have the right turn signal problem. the right turn signal only works when the lights are off with the car on of course. could this be the relay?

check the turn signal wire in the same fashion you found the red/blk wire to be burned. If these wires are next to each other in the fuse box possible they shorted to each-other...
