Ok soo I've been looking hard into buying a turbo. Im on a budget but, i see all these turbo kits for $3000+ I know thats not a bad price but i priced out all the parts in the kits and can get it wayy cheaper parting it out. The only problem is i know where to find all the main parts its just like all the hoses, tubing, lines, and little things i dont know where to get them at. I'm looking to get a TN 400 turbo from turbonetics and just getting the inter cooler, injectors, BOV, wastegate, downpipe, etc. separate but just dont know where the get the right size piping, and tubing and all that for it. If anyone could help id greatly appreciate it because in my opinion buying a kit you are just paying for the convenience of it.. (BTW even though i said im on a budget i will be getting quality parts no ebay crap)

you can certainly get many turbo parts off ebay..it'll actually be smart to go that route on some parts. the small things like couplers and hoses can be found at home depot/lowes type stores.

I second this motion. It's the turbo itself you don't want to get off of ebay. They are very hit and miss from what I hear.

the only things i would buy off ebay would be : intercooler and piping, silicone couplers, turbo oil feed line, oil drain line, -AN fittings. if you need vacuum line you can buy it at autozone or a parts store near you but what i did was buy turbo specific vacuum line from summit racing, its supposed to not break down as much and last longer.

Why not the turbo, turbo manifold, wastegate, etc?
They do sell brand name things on ebay for cheap(er) than other places. I got some Precision 1000cc injectors for only $150 on eBay as well as my Tial 38mm wastegate for only $220. So basically if you want quality parts, just look for the quality name on eBay because eBay itself does not make the parts, it just hosts. That's like saying you have a craigslist car part

you misinterpreted what i was saying, i wouldnt buy cheap knockoff main parts of a turbo system like the turbo, bov or wastegate.matter of fact i always check ebay for better prices, for instance i buy alot of my preventative maintenance stuff from majestic honda but i take the part number and search on ebay to see if i can get it cheaper, but yes still oem not fake chit.
