I am totally new here and I know nothing about cars. ( mostly cause I am a female ). I drive a 1996 Honda Civic 2dr coupe. Everything is stock. I have searched through the search engine and can't seem to find what I am looking for. Here is my problem with my car, My car stalls every time i come to a stop ( and sometimes before i come to a complete stop ) also i found oil in my air filter compartment. Not sure if that has to do with my PCV Valve or a bad valve in my head cylinder? Or maybe its some thing else? Just was wondering if you guys had any answers for me.
Thanks

PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation... it's there to let excessive gases that escape by the pistons during the combustion process. It's perfectly normal for some oil to hitch a ride with the gas... but an excessive amount of oil and engine stalling points to something else... either way, since you know nothing about cars, you should have your car checked by a good technician or dealership.... I don't think there's anything autozone can sell you to fix your problem.

I used to work with a very good female technician. Being a female doesn't put you at a disadvantage. Lack of knowledge does. And anyone can learn.

Take care of your car.

Thank you for your feedback.I had a friend come by and checked my car out and the hose that attaches to the PCV was pinched off ( not completely ) enough to make it stall out. I have been wanting to learn how to work on cars so my friend had me change the pcv myself. It took me some time and a lot of patience but after a few hours ( i know thats a long time ) i finished it and also did a oil change which by the way was pretty easy to do. I took the car for a test drive and I am happy to say that it doesn't stall and seems to be working fine now.
Thanks again,
