petrol gage problems

when i fill up to halfway everything is fine untill i go around the corner then it goes down to a quater and after about 13 miles its reading just above empty-when i know its not!- i only get about 75 miles out of it before having to fill up for fear of breaking down!
when i leave my car standing the gage goes up a bit and then back down when im driving, ive once filled the tank completely till it could take no more and the gage worked fine.
my uncle says all the extra miles i will be getting will mean eventually i will have a full tank but the other day i broke down through no petrol and it was only on 100 miles!

please help!

i have the same problem, the needle jus drops down rapidly as soon as tou rev the car a little too much or go round a bend a bit faster than what most ppl take it at. Itll be at half full and then cane the car a little bit and it drops dramatically.

I jus drove my car till it had no petrol and then put a certain ampount it and drove till it was dry again and basically remembererd how many miles i can do per £1 of petrol and thats what i go on now mileage rather than my fuel needle.....whcih jus shows empty most of the time.!

try replacing the gauge or checking to see if the sensor is working.
