I want to turbo my d15b7 want to do a rebuild on it because it has 258,xxx but now here is the ? what is a average turbo kit for 10psi and about what would that give me on a stock motor. But i don't want to push it to hard so maybe 7psi i just need to no what level of hp-tq the stock internals of a d15b7 will hold. Anything around 150 whp i would be happy with.

This is the kit i found on ebay that is the only place i no to shop wanting to spend around 400-700 or atleast that is by budget for the turbo kit.

not really on a set psi just looking to get around 130-140 whp. Going to do a build on another b7 block with z6 head regardless of what rout i go. But i have lots of stuff to do to get the motor in the car to where i even want it to boost it. I dont no how well the other owner took care of it.

Good, you're thinking smarter than most people lol. You have a power goal set, and you're checking the health of the motor first, not just slapping a turbo on there and thinking it's going to run.

Just don't go cheap with a crap ebay turbo kit, and DEFINITELY don't cheap out on a tune.
Check out go-autoworks for turbo stuff. I got my kit and everything I needed from there, Greg is a great guy and answers all your questions / etc. Plus the fitment of everything is perfect!

Hope all goes well with the build / turbo. Keep us updated! :thumbs up

psi is relative to the turbo, charge piping, head flow, etc. air flow, in lbs/min is the way you need to measure your setup. a simple analogy is this- a garden hose and a fire hose both flow at the same water pressure, because they both run from the same water pipes under the street. but the fire hose flows far more water. a tiny t25 turbo may flow 22 lbs/min of air at 12 psi (worth about 220 horsepower, as 1 lb/min of air is roughly approximate to 10 hp), while a huge t70 may flow 50 lb/min at the very same 12 psi. their spool characteristics and the necessary supporting mods are vastly different.

Before going turbo, you need to get an idea of what your goals are as far as horsepower. a stock b7 would be safe at 180-200 whp with a GOOD TUNE, which is the most important part of the equation. you can easily blow up an engine with very little boost if there is not enough fuel going in with that extra air. a small turbo kit, such as a greddy, will give good spool and a wide torque band, and will make installation much easier. an ebay turbo kit is a recipe for disaster, as the manifolds crack, the turbos are poor quality, and nothing fits the way it should. expect to spent anywhere from 3000-5000+ for the kit itself, paying someone to install it (don't do it yourself unless you are a good mechanic, or you have another car to use while you fix the things you break and can afford to replace broken parts) tune it, and the required supporting mods, like fuel injectors, an upgraded clutch, motor mounts (if yours are worn out) etc.

i have a garrett super 60 full T3.
its a small turbo so it spools nice and fast, and will get your HP goal no problem.

PM me if you like.

Yeah i want to get a new head gasket from the deal ship dose anyone know what these cost. Also want to change a bunch of other small gaskets. Do a compression test on the motor for any leaks to make sure its suitable for boost. Most likely order 2.5" piping from ebay. Not yet sure on what size injectors to use. Also need a sandwich plate then going to get a extra oil pain for the return line.

do not cheap out on turbo setup cause it will just cost more in the end! if you have a low budget buy legit used parts and piece it together!

ill say get vecco turbo kit or treadstone. they are about 2 grand with a name brand BOV name brand TuRBO and name brand wastegate! (TURBONETIC)

http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/view.phtml?f_cat=Turbo+Kits:+Treadstone+Turbo+Kits:+Honda+and+Acura+Turbo+Kits
My friend got the treadstone kit for his gsr teggy and it is the WORST kit you can buy. We basicly had to redo all of the intercooler piping, The turbo touchs the block when mounted and it doesnt come with a bov! Worst kit i ever worked with your better of building it your own plus the turbo they give you is only worth 600 seperate! If you want a full turbo kit go to http://go-autoworks.com/
