I got a CD player from a friend not to long ago... a DEH- P8000. He said it's a competition deck or something like that..... I paid a 180 bux for it... the buttons are worn but it still looks pretty nice... I got it to turn on finally(hotwire style...lol) I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it or where I can get a manual for it... ? I've already looked on Pioneer's site...they got manuals for everything but this... it seems... :(

It's got tons of wires comming out the back I'm assuming thats a good thing... Also I'm looking for something fairly decent to put in my car (contrary to the DUAL thats in there from when I bought it) I'm wondering if this might be suitable ... so if anyone knows anything about it... lemme know thanks

:2confused

Oh can someone explain what the hell a competiction deck is anyway....I have no clue.... thanks again.

competition decks do not have an internal amplifier, meaning that they NEED an amp for any usage

other competition decks have buttloads of deck power, competetions like that are kinda cool

the entire sound system must be powered soley by the deck... subs and all
i've heard some loud ass systems

its hard to find the manual, but pretty easy to wire...I got the 8600 from Pioneer, and its pretty much the same. Got it going to 2 Kenwood amps, 1 for the 4 inside speakers and 1 for the box.

Yhea, I've pretty much gave up looking for the manual... I think I'll try to toss it in tommarow... I'd like to mount it down where the cupholders are theres no How-to on doing something like that is there...or does eveyone pretty much just custom fabiricate it?

yeah that would be kickass if someone wrote an How To on that. except that you wouldnt be able to change CDs unless you had the car in drive
