last week i swapped the head out of my car, i had a friend help me, well that was a mistake, he made major big mistakes, and if my granpa hadnt caught them i would of had to replace the engine again.

* head not timed with block
* hose clamps not put back on
* cam gear not tightened down
* valves not adjusted, 1/8- 1/4 inch gap in most of them
* part of timing cover not put back on
* a bolt to distributor not put on

and i put a quart and a half of oil and it only been a week since we got it runing, and also the heater not heating up like it used to, still heats, just not that hot. and u can hear the suction of the air intake, any suggestions on those please post

at least he tried to help, I'm sure he didn't intentionally ruin your barbie's dream car

For the intake noise, if it's an aftermarket intake, then it's normal.

Don't ever let him/her try to fix your car again. Stupid Bastard!

IM NOT LETTING HIM TOUCH MY CAR AGAIN, and i have d16y8 engine and head, back in july i had to get a new engine and tranny because of a spunn rod bearing, the head that was on that engine the valves clicked really bad, so we got a valve job done on the head that was orignally on the car, and last week swapped them out. but again i say, he will not touch my car again, i trust myself working on it more than i do him now, i dont know a whole lot about cars, but i sure know my fair share, and i do have an after market air intake, id just never heard it suck like that b4, but my grandpa did say that since he adjusted the idol that its getting more air through there.
