My only big decision I have left is my motor. Like I said I am looking for around 200whp eventually. Here are my current ideas.

D16Y8 swap
-cheap to start but doesn't get me much of anywhere until I do internals and turbo

B16A swap
-not that much better for a lot more money and can't hit the kind of numbers I want without FI

B18B1 swap
-a little more tq but will also need some boost to get me to 200

B18C swap
-$$$ but seems like it will be more reliable than a boosted D16

K series
-out of my price range?

I am willing to put up a total of $5000 on this engine over time but would like to do the swap earlier. I have my cars interior gutted and want to rip out my Y7 so I can get it to the body shop. I don't want to put the Y7 back in the car after paint so getting a cheaper engine now works. But then again I would rather start with something better and as the years go by build it up to something amazing. What do you all think I have been torn over this?

My G35 is great but 93 in CT is soon to be $4 a gallon and it would be nice to drive the civic around more when it is done. My fiancee is still in college 4 1/2 hours away and going to see her will start to cost me a fortune in gas. So swapping in a Y8 or B18B1 would be nice on gas mileage for the next year and then I can boost it when I get more cash.

TEARDOWN

Alarm is out. Some of the worst wiring work I have EVER seen. It is scary to think someone felt as though it was safe.

Under the rear seat (YUMMY)

Yes that is a chicken wing found inside the ebrake housing

Roomate with a side panel

Leaky area. I think it is from the tail light seal. we will see

Just a little bit of an upgrade HAHAHA. The old unit had an install date written on it 1995 baby

Pinstripe must die!

Many Many hours later and a lot of automotive goo gone

All of the interior pieces have been removed except the dash and headliner. All the mold has been scrubbed out. (It smells much better) Every interior panel was cleaned labeled and hardware was bagged. New head unit is wired and installed. Front bumper and headlights are off. I think I might do a little DIY on the headlights and if I don't like the way they come out I will buy some. I started taking the grinder to the surface rust in the engine and it seams to be cleaning up nice. Turns out someone pulled part of the door seals off and never put them back in the track so that explains some of the mold. I think the rest is from loose tail lights. New carpet, mats and trunk carpet has been ordered.

Questions? Comments?
