ok. im new to the civic scene and just wanted to ask a few questions.....
i was either gunna start looking for a 92-95' civic or a 96-97 civic definitely a coupe but would maybe rather have a hatch. ok so i did some research and some kid said if i get any 5th gen civic and put a k20 motor swap in there with no other mods id eeasier be running 12's no problem cuz of the weight of that generation......i was looking at the 96-97 coupes or hatches and most are only a few hundred pounds heavier. would a motor swap with a k20 fit in the 6th gen.????? and what is more powerful the k20 or k24??? thanks for all your help in advance

U can make a k series motor fit in any 92+ civic with the right mounts etc. Id say goi k20a or k20a2 if you plan to go N/A because there new powerfully and have higher compression. But go k24a3 or one of the k24s if you plan to boost. There's plenty of guides on dropping these into eg's or ej's so just do some research here and on google dude. Good luck

of course you could, just depending on how much boost you're going for I've heard some people running like 8 psi stock but you'll definitely want to get lower compression pistons, sleeve it etc. if you want to run a lot higher. The lower compression k24's are just more ready for a lot of boost stock but a boosted k20 would be just as good if not better as long as you got the dough to tune it right, It's just kinda pointless IMO to take such an already high compression motor built to go N/A and swap in low compression pistons to boost it ya know? But it's all down to your preference. theres also a lot of people who do frankenstein k24 swaps so they can get best of both worlds. Kust study it up man. Are you planning on doing this all yourself, and whats your budget looking like?
