1996 Honda Civic lx 1.8 ltr I think, sohc . with 150,000 miles
THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY
Ive been hard at work since the last time I sent the last one out so heres where im at
ive been keeping a close eye on it regulerly with the dip stick and when I change the oil but no signs of the coolent being in there.. my guess is that when it sits for a while it leaks into the cylender head and when I go to start it it was burning coolent and making it run ruff but a coolent pressure test hooked to the system showed no results of it going anywhere .
so I did that flush stuff that goes into the radeator and I dont see any more fluid leaving the resurve tank as fast now thank god for that.
I cleaned the trottle body wiping it out and put a new gasket on it and cleaned the map sensor while I was at it and also I replaced the Idle air control valve and no change in the start up, but now it idles a little lower after it worms up witch is good around 650 to 850 rpm
I just got done checking all the fuel pressure tests and It drops really fast when my car turns off 1 too 2 pounds a second... I did the checks for the pressure regulator and the diafram isent leaking fuel and it drops the pressure about 10 pounds but it drops lower than spec. I think is says 38 to 50 pds of pressure and it drops to 31 - 32 pounds with the regulator vacume applied ? I will also check the voltage at the pump with the wiring harness next but my book dosent give me any voltage to go off of for what is normal and what is low do you happen to know what that might be by any chance ??? if you dont ill just get a jug that mesures liters and see how much it pumps out in 30 seconds out of the fuel return but that sounds really messey .
I also did comperssing and spark test for all cylenders witch came out to be 160 pounds and with in 2 pounds of each cylender. and checked the top to the cylender with a stethiscope becouse I was hearing a clicking and a humming sound coming from one of the cylenders. I think its a exoust valve.
Now if that sticks after it cools down and sticks .during startup whould that make my car lug at startup as well?
And one more thing ive noticed today when I started it I herd a loud sqeal out of the engen whitch is a belt of course but tensions good on all or them but would a bad bearing in one of the pullys hold the car back from starting with a lugging untill it frees up? the timing belt needs to be replaced speaking of belts Im not sure when it was replaced last ..... man ow man I dont like how many verables there are here in this situation but 1 step at a time and with a lot of help. and as many ideas of what it can be its driving my crazy and I just want it to stop.
