po420 code on my 2000 si? need help

m y check engine light came on its the catalatic converter i put on a test pipe, i also bought a o2 simulator from caspers electronics i dunno why the sensor threw but it did and now my check engine light is on, i check it and its the po420 catlilatic below emissons threshold, how do i convert my car to obd1, will it get rid of my problem, a guy at skunk 2 said to convert to obd1, he said its plug and play with the ecu, which car do i get a obd1 out of for my si , and about how much and where can i get one asap

Ok.... First you need one of these (click me) Then you need to find either a p28 or a p30 obd1 ecu... After that it is all about plug and play.....

dude it would be WAY cheaper to get a new cat-convert than to go obd1 now if you intend to chip an ecu and stuff then sure why not because then you knocked two birds out w/ the same stone, but if you just want to fix your code and leave the car w/ minor bolt ons then just buy a new cat from various places

i wouldnt go obd1, you definetely wont pass emissions. just get a high flow cat, it will solve all your problems and it will be much cheaper than an obd conversion. and your car is not running in conservative mode because of that code btw. my car is throwing that same code right now and i havent lost any mileage and can still climb to high rpm levels. i dont plan on fixing that code until i get a new exhaust system
