So yesterday my car started acting horribly after 2.5hrs on interstate without problems, only a year on boost. It knocked hard twice then I babied the thing home as easy as I could with minimal issues. Its got what seems to be a constant misfire until you start to actually drive the car, then its okay until you try to accelerate hard then the engine just stutters, misfires constantly and doesnt want to go anywhere.

We did a dry compression test and got 175, 175, 175, 155 in cylinders 1-4, which seems low to me but I'm not sure whats normal ('99 b16a2 block with a jdm '93 b16 head, I got screwed, dont ask). We cant do a leak down test because my cuz doesnt own one yet as he's in his first year of a 2 year tech program. From what I've read if the leak down came back normal its either fuel (injectors) or spark (plugs, wires, etc). Anyone have any idea on anything else I can try without throwing parts at it? I was going to order new motor mounts yesterday just before all this crap started so I'd like to try and figure this out without a complete tuneup even though it's not expensive... the spark plugs only have 1000 miles on them also.

you might've broken the porcelain on the spark plug. wait what!? yeah someone messed with my fuel settings and a bad detonation caused the porcelain to break on 2 of the plugs and it wouldn't stop misfiring until i hit boost.

edit: nevermind, i didn't see that you found out what happened.

opened up the disty cap last night and saw mayham, my mechanic cuz came over and comfirmed, "red dust of death", so I'm installing a new disty tonight. I was going to go wtih MSD disty and SC coil but I cant get the parts until friday and I need my car tomorrow so I can start my NEW JOB! The woo's of not living in a major city that would have obscure parts like that.

The new motor mounts I was going to buy on monday will have to wait until next month... hopefully
