Alright, so I wired up my foggies according to Eran's old thread:

http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=66852

I have the esuse kit. I cotinuously am popping the 40A fuse in the engine compartment fuse box on that circuit, any ideas of what to do?

**Yes, ive double tripple checked my wiring.

you have a short somewhere in the wiring. there is a ground somewhere along the power wire...

hmm... well I grounded the relay / ground to the knee bolster (on the same bolt) and then the other ground on the nut where the ac grounds.

i mean your power wire is touching ground somewhere

It cant be? The power wire is the white I think one plugged into the fuse quick connects - straight from the harness, its not touching anything.

then check your bulbs...

the only way a fuse is going to pop is if the power is touching a ground somewhere, causing the amperage to skyrocket

okay... thanks for info. The last bit of info (not sure if itll help) is that the foggies will work for about 2 weeks (once I replace the fuse), then the fuse pops again.

on just the power wire, er?

ok i wouldn't go down a gauge on the power also i wouldn't suggest a bigger fuse. somewhere where the power wire that goes from the internal fuse holder if i am reading this right then that means it is going through the firewall of your car, if this is the case then there is a possiblity that the power wire is rubbing and has cut the insulation and if it has there is a good chance that it will not pop the fuse until the wires move around a bit from driving, the advice i can give is to trace out the power wire for the fogs and locate a break or burn spot in the insulation cut it out but cplice it together and tape it up well this should take care of your fuse popping troubles ( just to let you know if you go down to say you may be at a 14 gauge wire and you change it out to a 12 or even just go to a bigger amp fuse and there is a direct short on the power to your chasis then the car could catch fire and we don't want that to happen

i had the same problem with my OEM kit. if the wiring is the same you might wanna try swithching the power wires going into the fuse panel like i did. i tried the way Eran posted but kep popping fuses too, then swiched and have had them like this ever since. MOVE THE RED/BLACK WIRE OVER ONE SPOT TO THE RIGHT.

THIS

NOT THIS

in your picture, the red/black one is the one moved over to the right one, is that what you meant?

upgrade to larger power and ground wires.

i used to have a fuse popping problem when i first started to get into systems. turns out i was running too small gauge of wire and the amperage was heating the wire all to s**t and eventually popping the fuse.

jumped to a larger gauge wire and the problem was solved. im guessing thats the problem you are having as well, even though its not a system

ive tried both solutions:

- moving the red/black quick connect over one
- uping the gauge of the power wire

and neither worked, any other ideas?
