Everyone's input is welcome.
What are the cons to turboing an automatic? Also, what would I need to upgrade to the auto trans? Of course everyone will suggest a swap, but humor me for now.

Thanks,

humor...hmm well youll need stronger parts for your trans, you wont get the same hp as you would in a mt car, autos are for ppl who cant drive, and you should swap

on a v8 musclecar its a preference. on an import with a small motor, an auto destroys its performance, not to mention honda autos, even extremely (expensively) built ones dont last nearly as long, nor can handle the power of a stock manual with upgraded clutch. level ten is about the only company that makes good honda auto parts, but they are still fragile and cost a grip. to turbo an auto, you'll need a lot of level ten parts and probably to have them build the tranny, which is easily gonna cost you a grand at least, above and beyond the turbo to have any semblance of reliablity. ditto for a b series auto. dont bother swapping, just get a new car that has a manual stock.

most professional drag cars are auto (i think) cause with auto if u never let go of the gas you dont lose the built up pressure from turbo. 7th gen stock auto tranny can hold up to 10-11 lbs of boost with just a cheap tranny cooler, about same as any MT. You cud get one of those tranny overhaul kit things, and then aftermarket torque converter, which mite cost over a grand by itself

Most drag racers use autos for consistency. Not because it's easier. They are also driving v8 monsters, not little 4 bangers. So the auto doesn't have the same effect as it does on our cars.

Manual all the way!
