possible short somewhere in auto transmission?

My car's a '99 Civic EX

I'd seen this problem one time before. The engine service light would come on, and the light on D4 of my shifter flashes. The car is now in "limp mode". The guy who typically works on it exchanged a fuse, but says that there's a probable short in the transmission. All seemed well for a few miles, but then upon restarting the problem recurred, and I'd like to hear from anyone who had a similar experience, or may know what to do to kindly reply.

Oh the first time round, the changing of that fuse worked for a few months, but seems the underlying problem is yet with me.

i don't think there is a short or the fuse was the problem in the first place.

I had an issue like that on my 00 EX, Had a Check Engine Light for 2 O2 Sensors, ELD Voltage High, Speedometer Stopped Working, and Car ran like crap. Now this was caused by an O2 Sensor that had stripped wires and Kept blowing Fuse 15 which is a VSS/Alternator Fuse.

Did you recently have any work done? Are you having any of the symptoms listed above? What is the Engine Light for?
