Power locks swap questions and A/C

I have non-power locks in my 00 dx hatch and am trying to figure out if it is possible to get remote locks that would work with the viper 791xv alarm or another remote.

I understand that first I would need to get power locks is there anyway to get this done and what would I need? After I get that done how hard is it to hook it up to a remote or the alarm system?

Since I am asking questions I had one more. My car has no A/C installed and I was wondering how hard and expensive it would be to get that done and what would I need?

Cool, i just got my power locks in today with the same exact alarm too. did it for 80 bucks from a good friend (maybe original labor costs 150)

simply, the power lock mechanism is installed, and it wires in with the viper alarm very simply. Both locks will share the cables that hook onto the viper alarm. If you have the viper remote, no need for you to get a seperate remote to unlock the door. Just use the one that is provided on the viper alarm remote.

from what i saw from the guy that was working on it, it seems like he added another module onto my alarm that controls the remote power locks. But again, the power locks hook right onto the viper alarm system, and the viper alarm will control your power locks.

hoped i answered your first question =) dont know about the a/c though. i'm lucky to have that.

just no power steering :|

Ya cool I have been checking some stuff out lately and one shop said around 150 which isnt bad. For the alarm system I actually I am trying to figure out at this point. Theres two that I have read about maybe someone else knows. I am looking at the viper 791xv and the Commander 7000. Anyone know pro's con's on the two and which one I should maybe lean towards? They both have remote locks and remote start I just dont know about effectiveness and quality.

I install alarms all day at work (Circuit City) and id suggest the Viper because it is made by DEI which offers lifetime warranty on the brains of all of their alarms. The 791 i havent heard any problems out of them but i know they replaced the viper 790 (which unfortunatly i owned) due to the antennas would go bad on those things all the time. u might also wanna check the Python 771 also made by DEI and has all the same features but is usually a little cheaper in price but exact same alarm other than python stamped on the brain instead of Viper. but both will wire right in with your new actuators to unlock and lock your vehicle. i know Circuit charges $80 a door if u wanted it done by a shop so that u have a warrant on the labor. pm me if u have any questions
