So if you guys do not mind could you guys help me out with my power locks. I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX 2DR. My power locks do not work at all. When I Press the unlock button on my key I hear a click under the steering wheel but they do not open. And when I try to use the unlock button in the car nothing happens. Both locks do not work. The only way I can lock and unlock the is by using the key from the outside. If anyone knows what I can do to fix it I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

I honestly don't know what causes it, but ever 7th gen Civic I've ever worked on and they seem to have a sleep mode that makes the locking system quit working for an extended period of time if the door is left open for an hour or more, but I've also seen this happen like you're describing and we ended up taking apart the door and found that something was binding up in the lock mechanism.

the switch in the door might be unplugged. if you had aftermarket speakers installed, they might of forgot to plug it back in or the switch is loose

Your factory alarm is a green plug iabove the driver kick panel. Your lock and unlock motor wires are in the top left plug in the back of the fuse box. The wires are yellow/black and yellow/green. Your power lock and unlock wires are in a grey plug above the driver kisck panel. The wires are white/blue and white/green. Check to see if the clicking noise is coming from either of these areas. Check your fuses...all of your fuses. The clicking noise under your dash is from a relay for either your keyless entry system or the door locks themselves. Also as mentioned before check the plugs in the driver door. On some vehicles if the plug in the driver door is not hooked up the locks will not work. Since the system for your door lock motors is a 5 wire system then I would say something is disconnected. I would help more but I have been roofing my house all day and I am dead tired. Let me know if you need anything else.
