The weather just got cold here in salt lake city and my power steering is very stiff until the car warms up. I'm wondering if I have water in the p/s fluid that is freezing. Is this possible and how do you change the p/s fluid?? Thanks for any help!!

Yes the p/s fluid level is good, the first thing I checked. But good question, sometimes the obvious can get you.

Coming from where it is cold... (lol) i'd say that its just normal for power steering to be stiff before the car is warmed up. my roars and whines and shudders and sounds like a 5 ton diesel truck until tis warm.

another thing u mite wanna try for faster warm-ups is remove your cold/ram air intake and put yer old stock box and snorkel back in for the winter months.

My whole car groans and moans in the cold too. Engine's loud, steering is stiff, clutch is stiff, and suspension is stiffer than usual until the car warms up.

I noticed this on my car today too. Until it warmed up, it was pretty hard to turn the wheel. It's harder to shift too. 92 4DoorSleeper, let us know what he says.

I don't think there's a problem with my car. I think it's just colder here than some other places.
