Power window not working - 2005 ex

Alright, I need some help with my driver side power window for a 2005 ex coupe. The driver side window doesn't move at all. Someone told me it may be the window switch...so I replaced that. Still didn't work. I just finished trying a new regulator and motor and it still doesn't work. Thankfully I tried the new regulator and motor before installing. I checked the fuses under the steering column and everything looked fine. Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!

Hi B-DUB,

I am having a similar issue. I have a 2005 Civic EX Special Edition Coupe. My driver side power window seems to operate intermittently. Oddly, during the winter it works, but in the summer, hell no, not even at night. My passenger side window works just fine. I replaced all the fuses associated with the power window.

Engine Fuse Box:
#13 40A Power Window in the engine fuse box,

Interior Fuse Box:
#6 7.5A Power Window Relay
#9 10A SIDE SRS
#13 10A SRS
#22 20A Front Right Power Window
#23 20A Front Left Power Window (for the heck of it)

I hooked up all the electrical cables back up to the switch, connectors, and motor/regulator, and I was able to get it to work temporarily. I was able to cycle it up and down a few times, but when I made it go all the way up it died on me. I noticed that the motor was hot to the touch. I came back five minutes and it was getting hotter! Even though, I wasn't using it. I THINK my next step is to replace the motor, and cross my fingers that is the source of the problem.

I'm not too sure what the source of your problem is. Perhaps your cables are bad? Even though I have a hard time believing that cables go bad without an adverse event. Try using a multimeter, and measure the ohms between the cables. It's not much, but may be you can make some progress in diagnosing your system.

Where did you buy your replacement parts?

I bought a $60 Dorman regulator/motor set at Autozone, replaced my old set, and now it works great. The drawback is now I don't have auto down feature. When I press the switch all the way for a sec then let go, it will continue for an inch or so and stop. Any ideas as to why this would happen?
