get it tuned. www.hondata.com , take it to a good shop and have them tune it, no more detonation. the bent rods your asking for is another story...

your not getting enough fuel! get a apex avc-r II and tune...

best would be to tune at a dyno so you can fix any lean spots and stop the runs before detenates.

is your motor built for boost, or r u running stock motor??

tuning with a apexi is a great idea...no. with a apexi youll have a lean spot no matter what when you go from vacuum to boost....or is the other way around....

leaning out slightly around idle wont hurt the motor, its more dangerous at higher rpm and where there is more boost, thats where the apex can help, u wanna rich up the upper portion on the rpm to make sure theres no lean spots where it can be dangerous. for a turbo application, you should keep your A/F around 11.5.1 to be safe

for a z, if going hardcore, jim wolf probably has something or stillen....or atleast i bet they could do somethin for ya.

the apexi vafc/safc does one thing- it modifiys the voltage output of the map sensor. thats about it. a hondata allows a tuner to completely remap our cars's entire fuel and ignition curves to perfectly match the individual boost curve of out turbo setups, or to precisely manage fuel in all motor. basically it lets us put a car on a dyno, pop in a wideband o2 sensor and an egt sensor and in a few hours, make the car like it had all those mods from the factory. and i know jim wolf technology makes chipped ecus for your car. if you give them an exact rundown of your motor and mods, they can make you a program that will be a hell of a lot better than anything an afc can come up with, and if you get it custom dyno tuned by them, you can easily gain 20+ hp above the chip.

actually no, stillen, JWT ecu upgrade alters it, but to tune, the apex is the way..

i know a guy at Z1, who has a program that you can change anything on the ecu. to change the a/f on a Z, most Z owners go with an apex-afc2, its a great device, maybe not for a honda, but for a Z its good as it gets.

the afc alters fuel, not MAS voltage output. as of now there is no stand alone for the Z, but i been told AEM is trying to make one but its gonna cost a arm and a leg.

hardcore?? stillen(overpriced) and JWT(great company) are hardcore, not really?? u wanna go hardcore on a Z, throw on some td05-20g on it..now thats hardcore..

and how do you think the afc adds fuel? it modifys the map signal to let you run bigger injectors on the stock ecu and fuel maps.

wtf on a Z, it doesnt let you run bigger injectors! if thats true there is no point for a upgraded ecu. there is a point when u order a upgraded ecu, they ask what size injectors u r using, they still need to configure your fuel maps for the injectors youre gonna use. the afc adds more fuel but is still limited by your injector size. a afc reads the volume of on coming air and multiplies it according to your settings at different rpms and sends it to the ecu which send out the multiplied amount to the injectors..

y does it need to change the voltage?

i think were saying the same thing. the afc reads the air flow through the map or maf sensor. that sensor sends its signal by how much voltage it sends to the ecu. the afc modifys that voltage signal to fool the ecu into thinking there is more or less air coming in, depending on what you are trying to achieve. i think your just speaking in general terms, and im speaking in technical jargon, even though were sayting the same thing.
