Premium bs regular gas fuel

So I have a 97 ex had the sohc vtec motor and I put regular 87 gas like it's said
I swapped a dohc vtec b16a3 motor so should I be putting 91 premium gas now?? Does it matter?

Higher grades just have a higher resistance to detonation. It wont generate any extra horsepower. They also tend to have better detergents though to help keep your fuel system clean.
