haha lol i second that.... what i think he is trying to say would $2,700 be enough for a turbo setup gaining 50-60 horse power and be a daily driver..... in my opinion.... YES... you could get the complete greddy kit of ebay that comes with an intercooler and i think its like $2,000 and you could buy BOV...... and the money left over use for the gauges and misc. s**t..... that is if you install if yourself... if not then you need about another grand give or take....... then you could sell the s**t you already have on like your headers and intake and that'll give you extra money maybe to upgrade your tuning system to hondaata

yes. t25 or 14b turbo, std manifold, custom dp, custom charge pipes, johnnyracer ic, dsm injectors, dsm bov, hondata s100 w/boost, boost-egt-oil pressure guages, greddy tt, manual boost controller. ALL this for around 2000-2500 and get exactly what you want.

Custom is the way to go.

not true at all..... greddy kit with IC and BOV :

180whp 164wtq

however custom is the way to go if your smart enough and know what to look for also its cheaper

^^ gee ever thought that they got it tuned?? it also depends on other mods that people have done. all motors are diff and will react to turbo differently.

2700 bucks is way too much, with that amount of money i could strengthen my internals on top of the turbo project im doing...customize your own kit and you will save alot of moeny

yea dood if u plan on makin power do not get a greddy, yea i would make a custom turbo kit, i would build the motor, get hondata, get all the turbo stuff and get it tuned wit hondata. buddy has a 95 coupe wit a d16 turbo and it runs 7's in the 1/8 mile

thats not the GReddy kit that most people kit though. Most people don't even get the IC or an external wastegate.

Well most greddy kits don't come with that you have to buy it extra but it would be stupid not to have these things with a turbo

i dont think greddy kits come with the option of an external wastegate (i dont understand why one would unless they are gonna push more than 15psi) but that can easily be done by hand. simply take off the little hose connecting the housing to the wastegate and plug it....thus deeming it useless and needing an external one.

D16y8

guys, i've got a 98 ex, d16y8 enigne, and i wanna turbo. from reading it seems that i should screw getting the greddy 14b kit and do it custom. Could someone with knowledge enlighten me before i go out and spend a junk load of money on what an ideal powerful set up would consist of and roughly how much on price? thanks guys.

an intercooler isnt needed at any psi, but its good to have one. an intercooler cools down the temp of the air going to the motor.... where is the logic in your statement? i think i missed it.

..... dumb people .....

psi doesnt determine detonation in any sense.

you dont need an intercooler...key word..NEED!!! youre car will run with no intercooler, but its not advised...that was my point. plus 15 psi on a 14b is different than 15 psi on a sc61....when will people f**king learn that. plus, dont say you have turbo plans for x amount of psi, use hp figures and give the turbo size.....THEN we can acurately determine how much psi you need to push to get the desired level of hp.....stupid f**king people
