pro shift lite install

i just bought a autometer pro shift lite and it said it was universal....the description said goes great with any autometer tach but wasnt sure if i could just use it with the stock tach...its going in my friends scion tc and it hasnt come in yet just wondering...is there wiring that will just allow me to connect it to the stock tach signal?

my shift light is connect straight to my autometer tach.
the tach itself has a knob for adjusting the rpm at which the shift light activates.

if he got one like mine, no... he'll have to rig something up or get an autmeter tach

no because the light wont know when to light up... there is no way to adjust the signal to the light.. you need a rpm activated switch, an autometer shift light control module (little pill inserts), or an autometer tach that supports a shitf light...

yeah i figured he got the wrong one...i saw that one with the little pill modules and i guess he would have to get something like that
