Well I was trying to wire up my new type r wing in replace of my stock wing, and after I tried it once to be sure that the third brake light worked, my tail lights and third brake light do not work now when I push the gas pedal. I've checked every fuse and they were fine, checked the bulbs in the tail lights to be sure they were right, all good, even went as far as checking the brake relay under the dash by the brake pedal, that was fine. The mechanic who just inspected my car said that their is a rear fuse box in the hatch?? Does anybody with a 1996-2000 hatch have a fuse box in their trunk?? I think I might know where it is on the drivers side section of the trunk. Well any help will be appreciated. Thanks fellas and ladies that reply!

Didn't the mechanic who inspect your car tell you where the rear fuse box is in the hatch? Does sound like a fuse problem...tried calling Honda dealer maybe to find out? Sorry but I got a 5th gen hatch

well here is what happened. I use to have another wing on my Civic, but decided it was time to change. So I sold that wing and put the stock wing back on, but when I initially took the stock wing off, I just cut the wires thinking I wouldn't ever use the stock wing again. Well took it to get it inspected and the mechnaic wouldn't pass it because the stock third brake light didn't work in the wing. well he cut off the adapter at the end of the wires, which would have plugged right in to my type r wing, and hand wired the stock wing. well when I went to disconnect his wriging job to wire the type r wing, it worked once, and then blew a fuse. so i only spoke with him on the telephone about the rear fuse box, but haven't had a chance to see if that was the problem yet, I'm going to check it tonite.

i know you said you checked al the fuses, but does that also mean the ones under the hood too? i've got a 98 coupe but their pretty much the same thing. and your mechanic is wrong there is no fuse panel in the backof your car, just under the dash and hood

first off, my bust on the gas pedal. and secondly, already checked the fuse under the hood also. maybe it shorted out some where between the front and back? i really hope that ISN'T the problem, cause I'm not interested in ripping apart the entire interior. god damn thing!
