Pros & Cons of IACV Delete. Opinions Plz!

Brand new iacv continues to throw a P0505 cel? What are some cons of deleting the iacv i mean my 92 blazer doesnt have one & it idles just fine!? I would like to hear your opinions.

Did you do the idle relearn procedure? If you did, then there is probably another problem besides the IACV. You cannot delete it. You need to check for any vacuum leaks or other air/fuel delivery problems. How does it run? More specifics on the engine would help.

How can you compare the blazer to a civic? The civic was built to run with the IACV, the blazer was not. If there is still a problem with it with a brand new one, there is something else wrong.

The blazer actually does have an idle control valve, just a different type. Older GM engines use a type that screws into the throttle body with two bolts, and has a spring-loaded valve.

I stand corrected. You are right. For some reason I was thinking GM didn't start using those little things until the late 90's.
