my ps3 took a s**t yesterday. no wierd lights or anything, just no picture. tried it on 2 different tvs, with 2 different cords and the s**t still wont work.

I bet they have a warrenty that will cover it.
paid 599 for it, its the 80gig. bought it like 8 months ago, so i hope sony covers it. i will call them tomorrow
Ahem...
try holding the PS3's Standby/on button till you hear a beep,(this will reset the ps3 to default video settings) try using composite cables(the ones that came with it) If you have a tv with HDMI, you can try that as well using an HDMI cable. if all else fails, sony will repair your ps3 free of charge, as long as it was purchased within a year, and the warranty sticker is still intact. You should be good

did you try re-setting it by holding the power button on the consloe itsself?
its in the manual i believe, how to reset the video output to default. i would try that first.

I hope those methods work, I would be just as pissed if my 360 gave me the red ring of death
tried to reset it. nothing. the tv detects it and changes the channel, but i get no picture/sound. tried it on 2 different tv's with a hdmi cord, and the regular cord. guess ill be calling sony tomorrow
