Purge tank neccesary on hatch?

Hey guys I just dropped a d16y7 in my DD 99 hatch. I realized I took a purge tank (evap) out of a 97 but there doesn't look to be a spot for the purge tank on my 99. Can I just bypass ot? Thanks

Yes. Most tucked bays don't use the evap stuff. The fuel vent line should be routed under the car so that fumes don't enter the cabin. Do not cap it off.

How do you mean necessary? It's obviously not a decoration and is there for a reason. Are you asking about the purge valve or the EVAP canister? Post pictures. Always post pictures.

Evap canister, it doesn't matter now I ended up just putting it in lol. Then gave car to sister got a 2000 civic sedan now
