I took off the cover and speaker from the rear of my 99 hatch, and there is a harness. I detached it from the speaker and took the speaker out. the new speakers I have don't have that same clip that the oem speakers did. my question is, can I pop off the old clip from the oem speakers? or can I buy them from somewhere else? because I tried popping it off and it's like stuck on there.

You have 2 options-
Cut off the connector and solder the wires together + to + and - to -
OR

My advice, cut the OEM harness, and crimp the wires + to + and - to -.

BOTTOM ONES, just make sure they fit the speakers, + and - are different. And crimp the wires from the old harness right to the speakers..
