Question about Type R shift knob

I need a new shift knob and I am planning on getting the Type R style shift knob.

I know the nut on the right of the knob(see picture) is used to keep the numbers alligned with the gears but I was wondering if it goes under or over the black thing on the shift boot? (left of nut)

In the picture what is that long black thing? What is the zip tie used for? Where do I put it?

All thoughts welcome.
TIA

I think the black thing would be for the shift boot.. I also believe it goes above the blackthing.. I wouldn't take what I said seriously though, as I don't know much about these things, just trying to figure out by myself..

lol. The black thing next closer to the nut next to the zip tie is called a collar which is for the shift boot if you dont one. The nut is to allign the numbers with the gears. The ziptie is to hold the collor to the shiftboot if you dont have the factory rubber band. I think the long thing is to hold the collar up so it is snug against the shiftboot. I just figured all this out.

This may not be related to this, but if I were you I would go with the skunk2..cheaper, and just as good.
