This may be a dumb question, but with people being able to make "junkyard" turbos and use stuff from other cars, I wanted to ask to find out for sure

Can any turbo be rigged to work on a civic?

I think any turbo can be rigged to work on any car but is the turbo good for what you have or what you want? That is the question

True...What i was thinking, i have no idea if this would work or not, but i have an opportunity to get a turbo pretty cheap right now (don't know specs or anything) but i would only get it should i be able to use it too whenever i get my h22 installed. Right now it's just stock d16y7

Also i'm a little ignorant about turbos. would stock internals be able to handle it? or would i need to upgrade them

Well dude, you need to find out what kind and what size turbo first. Depending on the amount of psi you run will determin if you can run with stock internals or not. If you're getting the turbo for pretty cheap I can only imagine that it will be a small turbo or one that's shot. When you get a chance to actually see the turbo check to see if it has any shaft play.
