My car previously had 2-18" RF powered by 2 bd1000.1 and a sony cd player. I took out the 2-18" and the bd1000.1's and the sony and replaced them with 1 12" type r and an amp and a alpine cda-9833. Now all of a sudden the headlights are beating to the bass along with my cluster lights. why is it doing this now, the previous system had so much current and it didnt do this.

go have a load test done on your alternator, chances are if you never got a bigger alternator to run the RF system your shyte is probably toasted.
A stock honda alternator has no hope of running 2 bd1000.1

are there places that do load tests for free? Im guessing its the battery because the guy I bought the car from had it in storage for almost a year and he had to charge the battery before taking it out of storage. Since then though, it starts right up. I'll look into it, thanks. Also, would a cap help instead of getting a new alternator/battery?

Sounds like your altenator isnt putting out what its supposed to... get that checked (autozone or advacned i think will do it for free)

Yes a cap will help. About 1 farad will do you fine, but its NOT the problem thats for sure.

A cap will not help with anything if your alternator is damaged. Neither will a battery. Basically your alternator does not have the power right now to power your car and the system. If you add a new battery or a cap, what is going to supply them. You still have an alternator that does not make the power that you need it to make.
